The remains of former National Chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Bamanga Tukur, were laid to rest in his hometown of Yola, Adamawa State on Sunday. The burial, conducted according to Islamic rites, was led by the Chief Imam of Modibbo Adama Central Mosque, Alhaji Ahmadu Bobboi, at 10:50am, and his remains were interred at the family house at Fadde-Sanda, Abuja road, Yola at 11:30am. Tukur died on Saturday at the age of 91 and is survived by two wives and 18 children, including the Secretary to the State Government of Adamawa, Awwal Tukur. The funeral prayers were attended by dignitaries including Aliko Dangote, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Senator Iya Abbas, and former Governor Jibrilla Bindow.
