Sheikh Muhammad Nuru Khalid, an Abuja-based Islamic cleric known as the "Digital Imam," called on the Federal Government to regulate religious activities in Nigeria. He made the call during a keynote address at the launch of two books in Yola, Adamawa State, at the weekend. Khalid stated that some clerics are portraying religion negatively through their utterances and actions, which he said harms society. He noted that despite high religious practice, Nigeria has not achieved expected development, and urged the government to be courageous in regulating religious activities.
