Herders have paid N4.5 million in compensation to 38 farmers for the destruction of their farms in Dambwash, Danbukor, and Fokko villages in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. The Acting Ardo of the area, Isa Shiga Dajji, said the compensation was paid to promote mutual understanding and serve as a deterrent. He noted that the payment was made in tranches, with the latest being the final instalment, and called for calm between farmers and herders. The compensation followed an agreement reached on August 19, 2026, after the farms were destroyed on August 16, 2026.
