Valencia has sacked coach Carlos Corberan and CEO Ron Gourlay following a poor start to the Spanish season. The club sits at the bottom of La Liga with no victories and four defeats from five matches. Valencia stated that the decision marks the club's will to start a new era in sporting structure and football management. Corberan will be temporarily replaced by reserve team coach Oscar Sanchez. Fans have protested heavily against Singaporean owner Peter Lim and his son Kiat, who has been club president since March 2025.
