The Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE) has warned against a return to petrol subsidy and proposed targeted relief measures instead. The organisation's position comes amid renewed calls for the restoration of fuel subsidy, including a pledge by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar to restore a targeted petrol subsidy if elected in 2027. The CPPE advocated for targeted relief rather than a broad subsidy regime.
