A four-storey building under construction in Enugu collapsed, resulting in one person feared dead and four others rescued from the rubble. Emergency workers rushed to the site at Independent Layout Enugu early Sunday morning after the incident. Five persons had slept in the building, which was said to be a hotel under construction. The Executive Chairman of the Enugu Capital Territory Development Agency (ECTDA), Uche Anya, stated that the developer failed to comply with building codes, and the site had been sealed by the agency.
