The Nigerian National Committee of the International Press Institute (IPI Nigeria) has condemned the invasion of JKD TV Hamada Radio Network in Kaduna by heavily armed police officers. In a statement signed by its Secretary, Ahmed Shekarau, and Legal Adviser, Tobi Soniyi, IPI Nigeria described the act as reminiscent of media repression during Nigeria's military era. The institute urged the police to refrain from interfering in civil matters and advised aggrieved parties to seek redress in court. IPI Nigeria called on Inspector General of Police Tunji Rilwan Disu to identify and punish the officer who ordered the invasion.
