The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Kaduna State has alleged that over 200,000 cows have been lost to cattle rustling and related insecurity since January 2026. The association also reported that more than 50 of its members were killed within the same period. Kaduna MACBAN chairman Alhaji Abdulhamid Musa disclosed this at a news briefing on security and livelihood challenges. He noted that some stolen cattle were recently recovered in various parts of the country, including Lagos.
