Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State has disclosed that over 5,000 school structures were destroyed and 2.2 million children were left out of school at the height of the Boko Haram crisis. He made the disclosure on Sunday when Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State commissioned several projects in Maiduguri, including the Post Office 9-Span Flyover, Larawaram Community Senior Secondary School, Shehu Sanda Kyarimi I Primary and Junior Secondary School, and a 2.5-kilometre dualised road with five kilometres of drainage. Zulum noted that many teachers and school administrators lost their lives in the line of duty. He emphasised that his administration's response goes beyond mere reconstruction, focusing on restoring access to education.
