Professor Gwarzo has been honoured as the Hausa community chancellor in Europe. The new role places him at the centre of efforts to strengthen the cultural identity of Hausa communities in Europe and maintain links between Hausa-speaking communities in Nigeria and elsewhere. The honour was conferred during Hausa Day.
