Former Military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (retd.) has mourned the death of former Governor of old Gongola State, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, describing him as a close ally, brother, and good friend. In a condolence statement, Babangida praised Tukur as a disciplined, selfless, and upright leader who consistently served the national interest. He noted that Tukur's leadership skills, crisis management, humility, and accomplishments are worthy of emulation and a source of inspiration. Babangida said the loss is personal but also a collective one for the nation.
