Workers in the Federal Unity Colleges have insisted that the institutions will remain shut despite a Federal Government directive for them to reopen. This comes as many schools across the country reopen for the 2026/2027 academic session today. The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, in conjunction with the Joint Congress of Unions, is behind the decision to keep the unity colleges closed. The development affects 115 unity colleges nationwide.
