The management of Ossiomo Power Company in Ologbo, Edo State, has disowned a Chinese firm, Jiangsu Communication Clean Energy Technology Co. Ltd, over an ownership tussle between the two companies. Ossiomo plant said that CCETC has neither been a partner nor a shareholder in the power company. The Managing Director of Ossiomo Power Company, Dr. Uwa Igiehon, disclosed this in Benin City while fielding questions from journalists, alleging that the relationship between the two companies was that of owners (Ossiomo) and a contractor (CCETC). There has been an ownership tussle between the two firms that has shut down the power plant for some time, and the Edo State Government recently expressed worries over the closure, noting that many offices and businesses connected to the plant have been left in limbo.
