The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has enlisted 600 pharmacists into its new Pharmacists Reserve Volunteer Program. According to a statement by NAFDAC's Resident Media Consultant, Sanyo Akintola, the initiative aims to mitigate substandard and falsified drugs and unwholesome food. The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, urged the pharmacists to serve Nigeria with honour and integrity. The 600 service-ready pharmacists, drawn from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, represent all six geopolitical zones.
