Prominent Nigerians, including Africa's richest man Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Governor Ahmadu Umar Fintiri, and former Governor Umar Jibrilla Bindow, attended the funeral prayers of elder statesman Bamanga Tukur at the Lamido's Palace Mosque in Yola Town. The former governor of defunct Gongola State and ex-National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Muhammad Tukur, was buried on Sunday, 13 September 2026, after the Janazah prayer led by Islamic clerics at exactly 11:00 am. His remains were later interred at his residence in Yola in accordance with Islamic rites. The burial drew Nigeria's political and business heavyweights across party lines, with Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri leading the state delegation, joined by members of the State Executive Council, National and State Assembly members, and top PDP stakeholders.
