A book on the life and times of Brigadier Musa Usman will be presented at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja. Brigadier Usman was an Air Force officer who served as Military Governor of Northeastern State, which now comprises Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Bauchi, Taraba, and Gombe States. The writer recalls knowing him during his secondary school days and through university, and plans to attend the event as a mark of respect. The piece reflects on the turbulent period in 1967, including the January coup and the July revenge coup, which shaped Nigeria’s military history.
