The remains of former Peoples Democratic Party National Chairman Bamanga Tukur were laid to rest in Yola, Adamawa State, on Sunday. The funeral prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Modibbo Adama Central Mosque, Alhaji Ahmadu Bobboi, at 10:50 am, and he was buried at the family compound in Anguwar Sanda at about 11:30 am according to Islamic rites. Tukur died on Saturday at the age of 91 in his Abuja residence, and his body was flown to Yola the same day. Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led a state delegation to receive the remains, and attendees included the Lamido of Adamawa, Dr Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa, and business mogul Aliko Dangote.
