A dispute over campaign billboards in Kwara State has raised questions about the state's politics ahead of the 2027 governorship election. The controversy began with the removal of a billboard promoting PDP governorship candidate Suleiman Bolakale Kawu at the Geri Alimi Underpass in Ilorin, triggering accusations of political interference. At a stakeholders engagement on political advertising organised by KWASAA, permit fees were announced: N100 million for presidential candidates, N50 million for governorship candidates, N30 million for senatorial candidates, N10 million for House of Representatives candidates, and N2 million for House of Assembly candidates.
