The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State has raised concerns about the neutrality of the Nigeria Police ahead of the 2027 general election. The party accused the Rivers State Police Command of attempting to charge some of its members to court without investigation following their arrest during a campaign rally in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area. ADC spokesman Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa, speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt, also alleged that the police have failed to investigate past attacks on party members. The party expressed deep concern over increasing incidents of attacks, intimidation, harassment, and disruption of its political activities across the state.
