Manufacturing companies listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited entered the second quarter of 2026 with combined unsold goods valued at approximately N1.77 trillion. This represents a 10.6 percent year-on-year increase compared to the first quarter of 2025, when inventories stood at N1.597 trillion. Over the same period, the companies' combined cost of sales rose by 13.7 percent, from N1.261 trillion to N1.434 trillion. The figures indicate that manufacturers are carrying more stock while facing higher production and selling costs.
