NDC condemns attack on members in Enugu

The National Leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress has condemned an alleged attack on its members during a grassroots meeting in Obuoffia Ward, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State. The party described the incident as unprovoked and warned against what it called incessant assaults on its members by suspected state-sponsored thugs. In a statement issued late Sunday by the National Publicity Secretary of the NDC, Osa Director, the party said it had a constitutional right, as a registered political party, to participate in the democratic process through peaceful assembly. The NDC alleged that violence against it must stop and that no amount of intimidation would silence its constitutionally guaranteed right.
