FIFA, CAF Face Tough Abuja Test As Players Union Demands Equal Voice In NFF Rebuild

FIFA and the Confederation of African Football are set to meet Nigerian football stakeholders in Abuja on Monday to address the leadership crisis in the Nigeria Football Federation. The meeting follows the resignation of NFF president Ibrahim Gusau and several board members, the suspension of the electoral process, and disagreements over restructuring. A dispute has emerged over representation, with the Advocacy for Nigeria Football Reform Initiative demanding equal representation for the Players Union bloc and State Football Association chairmen. The group's chairman, Prince Harrison Jalla, said the Players Union bloc will attend the 14 September meeting with six representatives, despite the NFF allocating only three places.
