Lagos State House of Assembly member Desmond Elliot has publicly apologised to Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over a disagreement linked to the last All Progressives Congress primary election in Lagos. In a video circulating on social media, Elliot was seen kneeling before Gbajabiamila and asking for forgiveness, while also expressing his wish to be reintegrated into the APC in Lagos. Elliot acknowledged his actions and apologised to the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, saying he had no excuse and was deeply sorry. The apology comes months after a dispute between Elliot and APC leadership over the party's primary for the Surulere Constituency I seat, in which he participated before withdrawing, citing intimidation.
