Josef Onoh, former South-East spokesman to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Chairman of the Forum of Former Members of the Enugu State House of Assembly, has criticised former presidential aide Reno Omokri over his claim that an average Nigerian can comfortably live on a daily budget of N3,000. Onoh described the claim as economically unrealistic and disconnected from the current cost-of-living situation facing Nigerian households. In a statement made available to journalists in Abuja, he said that although N3,000 daily translates to about N90,000 monthly, which is above the N70,000 national minimum wage, the calculation fails to account for the structure of Nigerian households and rising costs of food and other essentials. He argued that the analysis treated Nigerians as isolated individuals rather than members of households typically comprising several people.
