The Labour Party has stated that Abayomi Arabambi, who sued the West African Examinations Council, the National Youth Service Corps and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, over Peter Obi's academic records, is no longer a member of the party. National Publicity Secretary Ken Asogwa said in a statement in Abuja on Monday that the party decided to respond after the report appeared in mainstream newspapers. Asogwa added that Obi is also no longer a member of the Labour Party and that the party would not comment on the substance of the case. He noted that the party's National Executive Council suspended 25 members on Wednesday, 18th March 2026, for various infractions.
