The African Energy Chamber has called on continental leaders to safeguard cross-border investment and streamline visa-free travel ahead of African Energy Week 2026. The event, scheduled for October 12-16 in Cape Town, is expected to attract over 10,000 delegates from more than 100 countries. With approximately 600 million Africans lacking electricity access and an annual financing gap of $95 billion, the Chamber emphasized the need to prioritize economic sovereignty over diplomatic divisions. The call comes amid diplomatic tensions between Nigeria and South Africa.
