Schonfeld's macro team has been on a growth tear, despite the departure of most of the starting team

The majority of portfolio managers from the original team of Schonfeld Strategic Advisors' macro unit have departed, according to a person close to the fund. Despite the departures, the unit has more than doubled its investment head count since last year to nearly 150 investment staffers. The macro unit is run by co-heads Colin Lancaster and Mitesh Parikh and macro COO Omar Faruqui. It now accounts for close to a fifth of the firm's daily market activity.
