National Sports Commission Chairman Shehu Dikko has rejected calls for the resignation of the Nigeria Basketball Federation board following D’Tigress’ poor performance at the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Germany. The NBBF, led by Musa Kida, faced scrutiny after Nigeria lost all three Group B matches, including a 111–56 defeat by France. Some stakeholders demanded the immediate resignation of the board and changes to the administration of Nigerian basketball. Dikko insisted that any action must respect due process and FIBA rules, stating, “We cannot just wake up and start disbanding boards.”
