Beijing will ban the possession of drones within city limits under new rules effective November 15. The regulations, announced on Sunday, prohibit possessing, storing, or transporting unmanned aerial vehicles in the capital, and ban flights in its airspace. Authorities will offer subsidies for owners to scrap their drones, buy back registered devices, or provide free shipping to mail them out. The move follows airspace safety concerns after a small plane crashed into a skyscraper in June, killing the pilot and injuring 13 others.
