At least nine passengers were killed when gunmen opened fire on a commercial bus at Dungus Junction in Kuru community, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State. The passengers were traveling to Jos when the attackers struck at about 9:40 p.m., shortly after the driver stopped to drop some passengers. The shooting left the bus riddled with bullets, and several other passengers sustained injuries and were taken to hospitals. A teacher and neighbor of one of the victims, Lawan Suleiman, confirmed the attack, identifying the driver as Ibrahim, his former student. Suleiman said three of those killed were from Bukuru community, and the victims' bodies had been deposited at a hospital as relatives made burial arrangements. The spokesman for the Berom Youth Moulders, Rwang Tengwong, also confirmed the incident.
