Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria's First Lady, launched the distribution of incentives to pregnant women in vulnerable and underserved communities on Monday. The initiative, under the Maternal and Neonatal Mortality Reduction Initiative (MAMII), aims to remove social, economic, cultural and logistical barriers that prevent women from accessing care during pregnancy and childbirth. The flag-off ceremony took place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The incentives distributed include mama kits and bags, maternal food support packs, and sets of essential newborn clothing.
