The Nigeria Police Force has announced plans to unveil a proposed N10 million welfare bond for the families of deceased officers. The Force made this known at the 30th anniversary celebration of Course 19/1996 of the Nigeria Police Academy. Chairman of the Organising Committee, DCP John Paul Echeta, said 51 of the more than 200 members of Cadet ASP Course 19/1996 had died in active service, including three this year alone. The course and its committee proposed the welfare bond as part of efforts to support the families of the deceased.
