Dr. Kelechi Anosike, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Abia State, has pledged to abolish taxes on wheelbarrow and truck pushers and introduce a welfarist tax regime if elected in February 2027. He also promised to harmonize salary discrepancies in the state civil service. Anosike made these commitments during a radio simulcast relayed by 12 stations across the state, marking the formal kick-off of his campaign in line with INEC guidelines. He criticized the current heavy tax burden on residents and businesses.
