The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), under the leadership of Managing Director Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, has embarked on an ambitious programme of airside rehabilitation and safety-critical infrastructure renewal. For decades, Nigeria's airport terminals have received public attention while critical airside assets such as runways, taxiways, and airfield lighting systems have aged due to increasing aircraft movements, climate conditions, and deferred capital investment. The initiative aims to address these issues and reshape the foundations of aviation safety in Nigeria. The programme is described as one of the most ambitious in recent years.
