Nigeria returns to J.P. Morgan bond benchmark after 11-year absence

Nigeria's naira-denominated government bonds have been reinstated into a J.P. Morgan benchmark index after an absence of more than ten years. The return to the benchmark is expected to enhance the visibility of Nigerian bonds among international investors. It follows a period of over a decade during which the country's local currency debt was not included in the index.
