The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has dismissed a report that it wasted N7.58 billion on Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) for Lagos and Abuja airports. NAMA stated that the approved contract for the supply and installation of CAT III-capable ILS and Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) for the two airports was N1,188,139,913.90. The agency noted that problems with the CAT III system persisted from installation until the International Air Transport Association (IATA) raised concerns about safety and misleading parameters.
