The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) in Sokoto State has condemned the attack on Islamic cleric Sheikh Musa Lukuwa and the subsequent mob killing of the suspected attacker. In a statement signed by Dr. Muhammad Mansur Aliyu, MURIC emphasized that no provocation justifies violence or extrajudicial killing. The organization also expressed concern over recent provocative statements attributed to Lukuwa, which it said could cause tension. MURIC claimed to have video recordings of statements by the cleric concerning various religious and judicial matters.
