The Kebbi State Police Command, in a joint operation with the military, killed scores of bandits at Gumki Forest in Kangiwa, Arewa Local Government Area. According to police spokesperson SP Bashir Usman, the bandits were engaged during a clearance operation in the forest, known as a route for bandits and Lakurawa elements. Recovered items included a PKT rifle with 174 rounds of ammunition, an AK-47 rifle with 14 rounds, military camouflage, boots, mobile phones, charms, and four motorcycles. The operation is part of efforts to rid the area of criminal elements.
