Hon. Kabiru Mijinyawa, former Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly and current member representing Yola South Constituency, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a letter dated September 12, 2026, addressed to the APC Ward Chairman of Adarawo, he cited concerns over the lack of fairness, transparency, and credibility in the recent APC primary election in his constituency. Mijinyawa has joined the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), led by Abdulrahman Bashir Haske, the party's governorship candidate in the state.
