Vice-President Kashim Shettima praised the late Brigadier Musa Usman for laying critical foundations for the development of the North-East, particularly through the transformation of Maiduguri into a modern regional capital. Shettima made the remarks in Abuja at the public presentation of a book titled 'Service and Impact: Brigadier Musa Usman 1940–1991,' which documents Usman's life and legacy. He noted that Usman helped establish a functioning state, develop Maiduguri, and foster cooperation among communities in the region. The event highlighted Usman's contributions as a military administrator.
