Senator Ahmad Lawan and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have asked a Federal High Court in Abuja to dismiss a suit seeking to void the May 18 Yobe North Senatorial District primary election. In separate preliminary objections, they argued that the court lacks jurisdiction to hear the case. APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda also stated in a counter affidavit that the plaintiff, Hassan Kafayos, lacked the locus standi to institute the suit, as he was disqualified from participating in the primary. The plaintiff had sued the APC, Yilwatda, Lawan, and INEC as defendants.
