Former President Olusegun Obasanjo stated that South Africa would not have ended apartheid when it did without Nigeria's support. He made the remark during an interview on C-Suite Cafe, hosted by Ikem Okuhu. Obasanjo emphasized that Nigeria's involvement was driven by the conviction that no Black person should be treated as inferior due to skin colour. He added that Nigeria supported the anti-apartheid campaign without seeking personal or national rewards, but for the liberation of Black people across Africa and beyond.
