Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer said he and the franchise accept the NBA's punishments for circumventing the salary cap in relation to Kawhi Leonard's contracts. In a statement published on Sunday night, Ballmer expressed sincere regrets and apologized to fans, employees and fellow NBA team owners for the distraction and distress caused. He accepted responsibility as principal owner and received a one-year ban for his involvement. Ballmer noted there are still disagreements with the NBA-commissioned report that found the Clippers violated league rules.
