Tesla announced in a Saturday X post that it will unveil its second-generation Roadster on October 1. CEO Elon Musk first revealed a prototype of the rebooted vehicle in November 2017 and had targeted production for 2020, a timeline that proved overly optimistic. Tesla has still not announced a firm production or customer-delivery date for the car. The automaker has promised a sleek convertible with a 0-to-60-mph time of 1.9 seconds, a top speed above 250 mph and up to 620 miles of range.
