The Police have dismissed reports of a terrorist attack at Asaba International Airport in Delta State, clarifying that the incident was a planned security simulation exercise conducted by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). In a statement by Airport Police Command Public Relations Officer ASP Mohammed Adeola, the exercise held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, was designed to test and strengthen preparedness, response capabilities, and inter-agency coordination. The Command stated there was neither a terrorist attack nor security breach at the airport. The exercise involved the deployment of security personnel and stakeholders to recreate a simulated security incident within the airport environment.
