The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has suspended the industrial action it directed its affiliates to shut Federal Unity Colleges over the proposed concession of King's College, Lagos. The TUC General Secretary, Mr Nuhu Toro, announced the suspension after a meeting with the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, and other stakeholders in Abuja on Monday. Toro described the meeting as fruitful and robust, stating that the unions' concerns were presented and considered in good faith. The suspension will allow a newly constituted committee to address the issues raised, though the TUC stressed that the action could resume if the committee's recommendations are unsatisfactory.
