The Katsina State Police Command intercepted suspected cattle rustlers in Jibia Local Government Area, arresting one suspect and recovering 50 animals. The incident occurred on Saturday when suspected armed bandits attacked Kwarara village and rustled livestock. Police received a distress call at about 7:30pm, and the Divisional Police Officer in Jibia mobilised a patrol team of the Vigilance and Community Response Unit and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps. The security operatives tracked the suspects to the Jibia Dam Site, where a gun battle ensued, and the suspects fled, abandoning the livestock.
