Kebbi Residents, Businesses Count Losses As Blackout Bites

Residents and business owners in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, have reported significant losses due to a prolonged power outage. The blackout followed the collapse of the Kainji-Birnin Kebbi transmission tower operated by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). The state has been without electricity from the national grid for about a week. Affected businesses include welding, corn milling, bread production, bread frying, and the sale of cold water and phone charging. Two corn and bread millers, Malam Shehu Yusuf and Aliyu Muhammed, were among those who spoke about their losses.
