A verbal confrontation between the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.), and former Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has drawn Nigeria’s security architecture into partisan politics. On a national television broadcast, General Musa accused El-Rufai of orchestrating divisive policies, overseeing catastrophic security failures, and being complicit in planned killings across Southern Kaduna. In response, the El-Rufai family, through legal representatives, issued a seven-day ultimatum demanding a retraction, public apology, and production of evidence, or threatening legal action and N10 billion in damages.
