The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has inaugurated 600 pharmacists into its Pharmacists Reserve Volunteer Programme (PRVP) to strengthen the fight against substandard and falsified medicines and unwholesome food products. The volunteers were drawn from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, representing the country's six geopolitical zones. At the inauguration, NAFDAC Director-General Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye charged the volunteers to serve with integrity, discipline, and commitment, warning them against pressures or inducements that could compromise their responsibilities. She emphasized that when a regulator can be bought, the public loses its only protection.
